    Foundation issue?

    Advertisements
So while I've been here in Japan visiting DH I've realized that my foundation and the humid climate (100% humidity today) does not mix well. Once I'm outside it feels like it's just going to melt right off. This wouldn't be too much of an issue except we are in the process of an order conversion so we may be out here for 3 more years, and I love makeup so not wearing it really isn't ideal for me. I normally use MaryKay liquid foundation and then use a powder over top. Does anyone have any suggestions on a more light weight foundation that won't leave me with the melted gross feeling after being outside for a while?
    Thanks

I just got Maybelline Dream Wonder liquid. It and doesn't melt off (I've worn it in FL for the past 4 days) Medium coverage, but buildable. NARS all-day luminous weightless foundation is also a good one.

Try a facial primer if you're not using one!

I use the Makeup Forever Matte Velvet + and love it. You would assume it would be a heavy feeling foundation from the name but its actually very comfortable to wear and doesn't make you look cakey. I have oily skin and it holds up for 12+ hours for me in hot weather. I definitely recommend it!!!

Have you tried any of the local brands or korean brands? I would imagine they have makeup that works for their climate.

I only do BB/CC cream + powder foundation and I've always lived in fairly humid climates. (Not Japan humid but American Southeast humid LOL). A regular liquid foundation does literally wipe off my face by like 9am here. A primer helps some but eh.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'm going to try a primer first before actually switching my foundation, because I do like the coverage of my foundation. Anyone have any recommendations for a primer?

DB and I went to Japan for a week while I was visiting him in Korea and I couldn't wear any makeup apart from eyeliner/mascara because of the heat and humidity. My face was melting without makeup. Stalking this thread for future trips to hot places!
