    Maternity dress for the ball

    Advertisements
So, the ball is coming up in a month and I have no idea what to do. I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant, and by the time the ball rolls around, I'll be 17 (almost 18) weeks. I'm barely showing now, but I'm guessing I'll have a noticeable bump by then. I don't want to buy a dress last minute and I realllllly don't want to spend a fortune on a formal maternity dress. But I don't want an ugly dress either Rent the runway doesn't have maternity. I'd be happy to buy a dress online but I don't know how it'll fit for sure until a few weeks later. Any advice?

I bought my holiday dress from asos.com, only like $30 and they do free shipping on returns! I would think most non maternity formal dresses would still work if you'll only be 17wks though!

Are you close to a Dillards? Our ball is a month early due to a det. My friend and I found awesome deals at Dillard's.

There were a lot of dresses to chose from. You could get something with an empire waist, that isn't necessarily maternity.

This is what I was thinking. I mean I've never been pregnant but going off of belly pics here shouldn't most people be able to get away with that at 17-18 weeks?

I think so. It's my first time being pregnant and I have no idea how big I'll get when. I think I'll have to go take a look at what's around this weekend and see if there's an empire waisted dress I can get away with...

More than likely, if you're still pretty tiny and been having a slow show, you're not going to sprout some huge belly by 17-18 weeks. Most women have a slower transition into a baby belly. Some people pop all at once, but usually those people are well over 20 weeks. I'm just a rarity belly wise

I think if you went with anything that has an empire waist, it's a safe bet. Or if you go into a motherhood maternity and see a dress you like there, you can always put on their fake bellies they have in every dressing room to see how it would fit if you popped

I would just get an empire waist!
My friend rented this one for our ball, she's like 13-14 weeks pregnant:

Never do anything halfway unless you want to be half happy.

Is this a dream? If it is, please don't wake me from this high. I'd become comfortably numb
until you opened up my eyes to what it's like when everything is right...I can't believe you found me ♥
