    Outfit for ALS Graduation!

    Advertisements
Can we have a thread of what the heck you wore for ALS graduation, Air Force?

DH is rapidly approaching ALS, and thanks to some weight gain....I can't fit in like 90% of my dresses.

While I'm in the states, I figured I'd do my dress shopping here

So what did you wear? Give me examples

    Thanks!

[and I'm not even sure if this is in the right sub-forum]

I wore a black cocktail dress. A little *but not too short* black dress is always perfect. Even if it isn't black. I just would not go too fancy.

Is daytime (luncheon) or evening? What uniform is he required to wear?

They are normally evening and they have to wear formal blues, and in that case I agree with Southern-queen. LBD *not too short* is perfect.

I have on a few rare occasions attended lunch ALS graduations, and it's uniform of the day and business dress for guests. That is pretty much nice business/church dress.

Assuming it's the same as it is currently, it should be blues, in the evening.

That's kinda where I was headed- a black dress. No worries about it being too short!

DH wore his mess dress and I wore this:

I was also like 14 months pregnant.

Is this a dream? If it is, please don't wake me from this high. I'd become comfortably numb

I wore a knee length dress. I can't really explain what I looked like because it was pretty plain lol. But there were a couple of women there who looked like they were going to the club or something lol. Definitely do that. I'm sure you wouldn't though.

I wore a long tunic and leggings. And I was waaaay overdressed, comparatively. I felt borderline underdressed for the occasion but I had a brand new baby so I went with what fit.

The uniform was semi-formal, so I wore a simple blue sundress with cap sleeves and felt really underdressed compared to a lot of the others. I think there was confusion with the term "semi-formal" because a lot of them were wearing like prom dresses and really blinged out cocktail dresses. DH said I was fine, but I felt awkward and so did the other SOs who dressed at the same level as the uniform.

Semi-formal (which isn't actually a real dress code, and that's part of the problem) is usually code for "cocktail".
