    Hard water killing my hair!

    Advertisements
DH and I have REALLY hard water in our apartment. Like, I use 3x as much dish soap as I used to because it won't hold a sud for anything. I have zero interest in purchasing/installing a water softening system into the apartment, but I need to do SOMETHING. I can deal with my skin, but my hair is just getting a beating and I don't know what to do about it.

Does anyone know what I should do? Specific shampoos or conditioners? Thanks!

as expectation of something better tomorrow.

You can get water-softener shower heads at places like Lowe's and Home Depot!

This! We did this and it is a night and day difference! They only cost about 20-30 bucks too and last from 6 months to a year.

I'd try to shower head that other's are suggesting and maybe if your apartment complex has a suggestion box you could slip in there that it would be nice for the complex to install water softners?? I know DF installs softners for a living and they have commercial grade ones that take care of a whole apartment building.

I'm pretty sure it just has rust in it.

Oh! Eta- I agree with pp's, get a new shower head.
Eta 2 hard water is water that has mineral salts in it.

I used this line when I had well-water/hard water. Its like magic in a bottle. I used it once a week. And left the conditioner on for about 10 - 15 minutes.

Then I followed it up with Moroccan Oil after every shower

    Worked like a charm!

I had no idea shower heads came with a softener totally something I would have gotten for my previous rental!
