    Hairstyles and Humidity

    Advertisements
    Hello ladies!

I'm looking for a hairstyle for my husband's soon-coming outdoor Ranger graduation that will survive the heat and humidity of Georgia and still look good.

I have long (mid-back), semi-thick, layered hair that is fairly coarse. It is naturally wavy and very prone to frizz. I can curl it using mousse and a hairdryer, but it's so long now that most of the time the ends turn out looking frazzled and not pretty. I've never had good luck with curling irons, as ironically the curls end up falling out quickly.

So, how should I style my hair for graduation? I'll be wearing a sundress and to my understanding it's not super formal. Help! I'm a bit inexperienced in the hair-styling department so anything complicated probably won't go over well.

    Soooo... any suggestions??

I have very curly, very thick hair which is prone to frizzing. I use these thingies to put my hair up: Amazon.com: EZ Magic Comb Stretchy Beaded Hair Comb In Champagne Round Beads: Everything Else

Actually I think the ones I have are the "Hairzing" brand which seem to have better reviews on Amazon.

Oh, those are cute! Thanks for the recommendation! How do you wear them in your hair?

I either pull half up my hair up and clip it or pull it into a pony tail, lift it up and clip the underside, if that makes sense. I'll see if I can find some pics.

I just let my hair be wild, so I can't really help you there.
I am stalking this thread though to see if anybody has any good suggestions!

I'm trying to find pictures of my hair in one of those thingies but apparently I never take pictures of my hair for some reason.. I did wear one to a ball once a few years ago.

Here's a crappy cell phone pic from the ball:

Found one of my hair twisted and put up, can't see the hair thingie but it's under there somewhere:

Also I've been using the same two 'hairzings' for 5 years now.

My hair did not survive the Georgia humidity at all. Good luck!

Can you try scrunching it with a bunch of mousse (sp?) and hairspray. I find that a simple scrunch holds up better than actual curls.
