    Help how do I..

    Advertisements
I tried to dye my hair a pretty red but my hair is too dark. how can I dye it a red without bleaching it? I really don't wanna bleach it, there has to be another way to lighten my hair (I hope) I live near a CVS and a Sally's so I can go to both.

    TIA!

Go into sallys and ask them. They're supposed to have a cosmology license so they should be able to help you and choose a nice color, etc.

Sally workers do not need a license, go there and pick out a shade and get a 30 volume developer.

the best you can do is get a high developer. 5 and 10 is deposit only. 20 lifts 1 level, 30 lifts 2 and 40 lifts 3

eta: you said you just put color on it right? it might not lift as easily as it would if your hair was virgin so you might not end up with the lift you want. just remember, color doesnt lift color.

I hope that is not true lol.

OP if you want it a specific color that your dark hair will not allow it will have to be bleached/stripped of color.

I know you said you dont want to use bleach but you could try this...

Ion - Color Brilliance - Ion Color Brilliance Powder Lightener 1 lb. Tub

ive used this in the past, and even though it is bleach, it didnt fry my hair. its works really well as well. and it also conditions your hair while lightening it. its a really awesome product!!

I was told on multiple occasions, both while trying to apply for a position and shopping in the store, that they have to have one.

If you already have color on your hair you can really only do a color that is close to the shade u have cause it wont lift the color. But you need to go to sally's and ask them for help. You maybe able to get it a tad lighter using a 40 base cream developer. I just went through something similar.

Honestly if you want to go lighter you are most likely going to have to bleach your hair. There is only so much a 40 developer can do
