purple shampoos- john frieda vs shimmer lights

    Advertisements
now that im going blonde again i want to get a purple shampoo. i was looking into the john frieda renew and shimmer lights. has anyone used these? im trying to figure out if its worth the drive i would have to take (closest sally's is about 25-30 mins) for the shimmer lights or if i should just go to the drug store and get john frieda. what are your experiences with these products?

    TIA

ETA: has anyone found shimmer lights anywhere other than sally's?

its shampoo that is literally the color purple because purple cancels out brassy tones in blonde hair. i haven't personally used it yet because last time i had blonde hair i never bought it but ive heard great things about it

Shimmer lights. I've tried both. Unfortunately, I've only found it at sallys.

JF works, but, shimmer is better. Keeps it more fresh looking IMO

    You're welcome.

Ps! Be careful with it though. If you leave it in too long, it'll turn your hair white/silver/blue!

I've done it. Haha. Also, I found a more generic "shiny silver" brand conditioner at sallys, a little cheaper than SL, and it works good (and quick! Turned my hair white...once, oops). And you really don't need shampoo and conditioner, so just grab one!

    You're welcome.

My teacher was so perplexed when it was that way. She said she liked it though, and called me an ice princess. It was back to normal in about a week

I've never heard of this purple shampoo! I have naturally dark brown hair that is dyed blonde, and it definitely gets brassy sometimes. I might have to try it! I think I want to learn more about it first though!
