    Confused Christmas Party = Clueless

Next weekend is DB's company Christmas party for his unit, and this being my first Army christmas party, Im clueless as to what to wear . According to DB, " It's formal-ish, not like ball gown dress up, but like I cant wear my green bay hoodie and combat boots fancy". Wonderful description btw, I know. Ive been to plenty of parties at my company, but its more nice top/sweater, jeans and heels, not anything over the top.

For any ladies who have gone to any Army holiday parties, what have you worn? Im just nervous, I dont want to show up and look too fancy or too dressed down. To top it all off, im a bit on the "fluffy" side, so with finding out today with not alot of shopping time, im freaking out.

Any advice or pics would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I think the first thing you should do is find out what uniform he's wearing; if he's wearing his cammies, I'd stick with slacks, a blouse, and heels.

If he's wearing a dress uniform, I'd go with a pencil skirt, dressy blouse and heels or something like this dress: Target Limited Edition Women's Holly Dot Dress - Black/Cream : Target

We just had ours this past Saturday and while DH had to wear his blues and bow tie, formal dress for us was not required. Most girls had some kind of just little black dress, skirt, blouse and heels etc. I had on a black pleated skirt, silky blouse and knee boots with black tights, if that helps. I wore a woolen dress coat over it since it was snowing that night. No one wore an actual fancy cocktail dress or ball gown, mostly just really nice business dinner type attire. Can't go wrong with that, besides, there's always someone who shows up in pants and a Christmas sweater, LOL. Been to 15 years of these parties, you'll be fine.

I was going to say cocktail attire. So, a dress, skirt, heels, cute blouse, etc. What types of stores do you usually shop at? I can help you shop a little if you want help!

I agree that a "not-too-flashy" cocktail dress should be just fine. I'd rather be a little too dressed up than not dressed up enough.
