I like the first one just because I don't really like the belt in the second one. I like more simple colors that would go with anything so either black, grey herringbone or hot chocolate.

I have the peacoat but in a twill textured fabric. I love it. It's not extremely warm. It might just be the one I have, or the fabric, but it's pretty thin. It does fine for where I live, but I don't know how cold it gets where you are. It's winter white, which works for me because I can wear it with brown or black.

The drop waist is the one I want to get next.

I'm torn with the belt, I like it but I'm afraid of where it will hit. I have what my mom calls "child bearing hips", and I don't want to make them look any larger than what they are. My last wool coat was a winter white and it went with everything and I loved it, but I was trying to branch out with my colors and be a little more...bold, I guess, might be the right word.

Oh I've got the hips as well which is why I personally wouldn't like the belt. Also, if you didn't want to button the jacket, the belt would just kinda hang down, KWIM? I love the winter white color but I also love that grey color as well. It kinda has a pattern to it but it would go with anything. If you want to go bold, red is always a good option.

I didn't think about what the belt would be doing if I left it unbuttoned, thanks for pointing that out. I'm gonna go with the other coat, but I'm still not 100% on the color.

The second one. I HATE double breasted coats. They look stupid and make people look awkward and wide. You can always take off the belt.
