Foundation?
This is probably gonna sound like a dumb question, but I've heard conflicting things
![]() What is the best way to pick your foundation? I've heard to use either the inside of your wrist and your chest. ![]() I'm pretty pale(I like it tho!) and it seems like most of the foundations I've tried are either slightly too dark or even the slightest bit lighter

I though it was the top of your hand. Definitely not the inside of your wrists... the skin there is one of the less meaty parts of your body, therefore it tans much slower than the rest of your body, including your face

I do top of my hand... inside your wrist is going to make it way to light (for most people) and I have never head the chest...
Then again I use a mineral powder so its much easier to match the shades...

I use top of hand. If it becomes to much of a problem in finding your color, go to a place that does makeup and ask them to tell you your color. I had a Mary Kay rep tell me my exact color!

You should match it to your neck...which can be difficult to do by yourself. Most stores have mirrors so just put the bottle next to you neck and match it. If that is too difficult, go to Macy's or some other department store and have them tell you your color. You can buy it from them then use the bottle to match foundations in the drug store.

I think Loreal has that little shade sheet that you put next to the top of your hand. It has all the shades on it and the one that "disappears" when you hold it up to your hand is the shade you buy. I also had the same problem so I just went and asked a makeup person. Also look into what color undertones you have. I used to wear foundation with red undertones and it always looked off, she told me I have yellow undertones and that's why my makeup always looked darker.

I use the top of my hand. If you want to get color matched you COULD go to a place like Sephora or MAC and they could probably help you out too.
