How did you decide where to get your hair done?

I've had the same lady do my hair for the last 12 years. The one time that I went somewhere else, my hair was crooked.

But I can't make it until Christmas! I've gone my 6-8 weeks and now my hair is doing that falling out, rejecting me crap. Spoiled hair.

I'm so nervous to go to someone here.
So... how do you pick someone?

I know this is cliche', but I definately judge their own hair. Or I like to watch them work on other's hair.
Hang in there, I know how us ladies feel about our hair and new hair stylists! lol

I get my hair done wherever it is cheap I don't have the money for some fancy salon. Cost cutters and great clips it is.

I usually just go to JC penneys... it's cheapish and the stylists are generally good. I've had a couple not so great ones, but I just have a different one do it the next time - I've had more good experiences than bad.
    Oh, hey. I'm back!

I've never had a particular person so this wasn't really a problem for me. I just found the nearest hair school.

Okay, maybe I'm the only one picky... LOL.
I just hate going to random people without know how they do hair.
It'd be like "ummmm, that's 6 inches, NOT 4" haha, and yes, that would be a big deal to me.

Oh, there's also a Paul Mitchell School downtown, I haven't gone there yet, but was told that they generally do a good job.
    Oh, hey. I'm back!

I've always been referred by friends. I had an amazing stylist but she left last year and I've yet to find a new stylist that I love. I'm getting my hair cut before we leave the island and I'm terrified they're going to mess it up.

I am too scared to get my hair done anywhere after a horrible experience in February where I basically stopped her and left the salon. I got a trim when we were in Arizona in May (at my stylist who also does my mom's nails) and I REALLY need another one but I don't think we'll be in Arizona before Christmas so I'm trying to figure out what to do... I have NO idea how to find someone who can work with my hair without screwing it up.
