Plus-size formal gown for Navy Ball???

    Advertisements
Ughhh. Just ughhh. DH just informed me that he is required to go to the Navy Ball this year. We have been married for 10 years and have never been. I am not a big fan of dressing up, to say the least!

So now, I have 3 weeks to find a dress. I need a size 20, I think. I am really not in the mood to spend $100-$200 on a dress!

I get so depressed when clothes shopping, because it is hard to find stuff I like in my size. My own fault, I know.

So... !!! We have a Lane Bryant, JC Penney, David's Bridal, and Dillards here. Where else should I be looking?

Do you have a Lord and Taylor? A bunch are going out of business right now and they have some great sales and GORGEOUS dresses in all sizes.

I bought all my prom dresses at Dillards and they have some really nice plus dresses. JCPenney here didn't have jack in the plus stuff... What about David's Bridal or any other local bridal stores... a lot of times they have them and they're on sale because the little local shops don't get a lot of traffic

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot
    and thatís all I need

Check Dillard's clearance! The last time I bought a formal dress (I'm plus size too) was from there, about this time of year. They had great deals!

Thank you guys! You have given me some hope. Fingers crossed Dillards has something. Did I mention that I despise dress shopping? LOL Last time I wore a dress was for my sister's wedding in 2005. Before that, it was for my wedding in 1999.

Just for the record.. my dress was originally marked $200, and I paid $42.50 for it.

David's Bridal definitely should have a good selection and for not too too expensive. Their clearance dresses usually aren't bad. And on regular price dresses they can order them in any size you need!
