    Khaki Ball

    Advertisements
Okay, so I have yet to get a dress for the Khaki Ball. I have noooo idea what to wear, so I kinda wanted to see what other ladies are wearing.. Or what you have worn in the past..

Just so I can get an idea of what in the world to shop for!

    TIA

Cocktail attire is best. They wear their poly wool khakis, so anything over cocktail attire is WAY over dressed. LBDs work great. I bought a simple black cap sleeve dress with beading under the bustline...

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot
    and thatís all I need

Nope. Although the word "BALL" is in the name, its not formal. A little black dress would work perfect. Last year a wife was wearing a pant suit.

I got sent this email last year from a wife:

    Hello Ladies!!

I was surfing the net and found the official "Protocol and Etiquette" book. Here is the link:
    http://199.211.210.171/idc/groups/public/documents/cdf/life_006576.pdf

Since we were talking about what to wear to the Khaki Ball at dinner the other night, I thought that I would pass it on. Hope this clears things up for everyone wondering what to wear! Have a great time these last 2 weeks! I will see all of you there!

This is what it said about the Khaki Ball:

If you are attending an: Informal or Casual Event
Such as a: Casual Business Lunch
    Ombudsman Assembly Meeting
    CPO Pinning Ceremony
    Khaki Ball
Prescribed Uniform: Service Khaki (Top Row of Ribbons only if desired)
Ladies would wear: Casual Conservative Dress
    Slacks/Blouse
    Skirt/Sweater Set
    Pant Suit
Cocktail Dress (appropriate for Khaki Ball only)
Gentlemen wear: Slacks with Open Collar or Polo/Golf style Shirt

The year DH made it, I actually wore pants. Black pinstripe slacks and a white wrap blouse. Another year I wore a black, sleeveless dress. I haven't decided for this year yet.
