Your hair should be a little dirty. If you just washed it, you can dirty it yourself by spraying a lot of hairspray first. I use a one inch curling iron on most of my clients for spiral curls.

3 day old hair, and lots and lots of hairspray..make sure to section your hair and spray each section before you curl it.

My hair is spiral curly naturally, but its too tight for me, so I straighten my hair, and use my straightener to then curl it, I use TONS of hairspray, they have non-sticky, non-wet looking, non-stiff hairspray, and they hold.

I haven't gotten used to it yet but I use a flat iron and I've gotten my hair to curl pretty nicely.

This is my natural hair ... super straight and thin .... no body at all ...

and this is what I do to it just about every day ...

I wash it ... blow dry it ... then split it into sections ... do a quick spritz of hairspray at the roots then use a 1 inch curling iron to curl it. I've done it so much that I can do it all in about 15-20 minutes now.

My hair does not hold curl. The only way I can curl it is to do the whole wet it, scrunch it with gel and spray the heck out of it with hair spray. Sorry. No tips from me.
