well me and my fiancee are getting married when he returns from afghan, i was wondering how much everyone has spent on there wedding all together. i really really want our budget to be $10,000, i just want it to be beautiful and unforgettable, and do you think that's not enough. I've just started planning, so i've just started looking at venues online, some photographers. Any input would be helpful. Just any info on budgetting, when to start putting in dates for diff stuff like for example carterers, venues, invitations, etc.

there was a thread about this not too long ago
What was/is your budget? & What do you most regret registering for?

is anyone, like your's or DF's parents, helping you out?

I'm hoping not to go over 7k.

    D.J- 500$
Venue for reception and ceremony (7am to 1am)- 1,000$
Linens, circle tables and rectangle tables- included
Photographer- 0$ (friend, not counting printing in budget)
    Favors and place cards/holders- 200$
Catering- Waiting to hear back! Based on other places I'm guessing 3,000$ for open bar and buffet meal.
Clean up/break down and trash disposal- 175.00$

I am not counting rings, dress or other things in the budget, my parents are helping out so I'm not listing the little things.

I went to a wedding where the budget was 10k and It was nice but I think a spectacular wedding can be done for less if you put some heart in it and pick things that define you as a couple.

My goal is to be around 10k if i have the wedding in my parent's backyard and keep it to under 30 people.

You will spend the most money feeding people at the wedding though so if you keep the guest list smaller that will cut costs a lot.

If its at disney world though i know its going to end up being more.

Look for less used venues, the one we're looking at is Baldwin Hall, it's a community meeting place or something...I'd never heard of it but I googled "cheap wedding venues" and I fell in love with the simple look...I don't like gold walls and bright carpets and all the over the top things most venues had.

mmhmm we plan on having less then 100 guests, i already know i'm not inviting all of my family because that would just be wayyy too much. Less is better like you said. I'm thinking of doing a buffet, or maybe just desert. just something simple, i read some of the venues food menus and i couldn't even pronouce the dishes, and when it comes to food i like it simple. i'll have to look up the cheap wedding venues, that would probably help

Keep in mind local restaurants usually cater, here anyway. Food is the most expensive part and I am willing to pay for good food. I think food and d.j are the two most important things!

We're having about 50 guests in a southern mansion in Georgia.
The venue is all inclusive - food, DJ, photography, cake, furniture, flowers, setup/cleanup, the house for the day, etc.
Finding a place that takes care of it all & has package deals will be much easier on you so keep that in mind!
We're spending about $7-8,000 on everything
