I want to buy land...
But I don't exactly know the first thing about getting a loan (college and car were paid in cash...).
Is this something that I inquire about the land and then contact the bank? Or...contact the bank to see how much I could get before inquiring about the land? Anyone know a long-story-short rule of thumb for me?  I really want to buy this land!

with ours we just found the land- called the bank, got approval and closed in 10 days it was very fast and easy- and we used USAA and got a equity loan.
