Did your insurance go down when *YOU* hit 25? - Ask Rich / Money 101

I'm set to turn 25

in September, and am wondering if I should expect my car insurance to go down or not. I have USAA if it matters. I know my husbands went down drastically when he hit 25, but I wasn't sure if thats a boy thing or not.

My husband just turned 25 and it hasn't gone down automatically. Tommy is going to have to call and see what is going on!

It doesn't normally go down right when you hit 25, but when your policy renews.

Yep, when ours renewed, it went down a good bit, actually. I wanna say like $20 a month!

Then I got into a fender bender 6 months later and it went back up $15

Ours went down when DH hit 25. I'm still waiting to see if will go down even further when I turn 25.

I heard that it doesn't matter for us since we're already married. Basically that it only goes down when you hit 25 if you are single.

. DH turns 25 in February so I guess we'll find out then.

USAA told me that it goes down after you have been driving for 9 yrs. So thats why for most people it goes down at 25 (they got their license at 16). I didn't get my license until I was 21/22 so I have a while to wait.

mine went down a TON!!! i was paying $156/month and after i turned 25, it dropped to $96. AMAZING!

and yeah... i know my car insurance is way effing expensive. i don't wanna discuss why... *grumbling and muttering*
