Financial Counseling - Ask Rich / Money 101

doesnt the military offer free counseling? if so whos it through...xdb was talking about paying for it but I thought they could get it for free...

You can get Financial Counseling through Fleet and Family Services or Navy and Marine Corp Relief if you are Navy. AF Relief, Army Relief, etc. It is all free. Militaryonesource.com also has some information on its website.

I know at one base it was Consumer Credit Counselors (?) you had to see them on base, otherwise if you saw them off they charged you a fee. Something to look out for. Otherwise, ditto the above.

Also, most banks have someone there to help as well - i know Navy Federal does
