Who would I speak with at USAA to figure out what is the best plan of actions to do with the substantial amount of money I got in a lawsuit. I know not to put it all in one place. I just need some guidance from someone as to what to do with it so that it can make more money for me.

Log onto USAA's site - there are direct links to their financial advisors, you can also reach them by callingn the 800 # and navigating those selections.

if you only talk to USAA, they will only give you their investment options. i did this same thing through wachovia a few years ago and wachovia wasn't much help. my best option at that time was to keep a large portion of the money in a high interest account. I used GE, but some people like ING. if you want something with better yeild, but higher risk, look into mutual funds & international stock. we also opened a whole-life insurance account.

I do agree with jl, though, it would be wisest to explore more options than just those presented by USAA

possibly get in contact with an accountant. They can advise you on different places you can invest. I know that when my mother got a very large sum of money thats what she did. Also because the large sum bumped her in tax brackets, they helped her take care the fees or whatever that she had to pay in.
