E3 salary after taxes
Anyone know what the E3 salary is after taxes?
Would we get food money if I was on his orders, living near his AIT station and authorized to be there? Is it possible to live on one military salary for several months while you search for a job? |

Sure because you get a housing allowance plus you can live on base housing. Depends on what type of bills you have and such.

Yeah....It is around...500 a paycheck. I think if I remember correctly. Your not eatting lobster and caviar every night but it is good.

we can't live on base because it's overcrowded, so we'd have to live off, but I know we'd get bah. Is that for 2009? I thought it was more like 1300/month?

What branch is he in? Is he getting BAH presently? There are lots of factors on what the pay is for an E3, like how long he has been in. There are also extra pays that are factors as well. We lived on an E3 salary just fine but weren't E3 very long.

Well, my husband is an E3 and we lived on his salary just fine until I found a job. Money is definitely tight but you can do it as long as you don't spend money on unneccessary things. I would hold off on getting cable and internet and such until you do get a job.

you do not get "food money" the BAS is to cover the member only- it is 323 dollars a month split between the 2 pay periods.
if you google Base pay you can get chart of the pay.

Okay thank you abuot the food question. That's what I was wondering. So is that part of the E3 salary (about 1600 b/f taxes) or added on top of it?
He's only been in about four months, just went to AIT and is in second week of class. We would get bah. I would work as soon as I got a job, even if just part time, but worried about that. |
