2006 Tax Form and Questions?
My husband got a refund form from 2006 - it says he returned it previously without a signature and they need a signature. He has no idea where his tax paperwork is.
Does this mean he is owed a refund from 2006? How do we get the information we need to fill out the 1040 (i think thats it?) form and file to get the money? Also, I got a 1099 from Utah State claiming they sent me a check for $117. I have no recollection of this check - how can I find out if I really ever got it? I worked in Utah over the summer of 2007 but really do not remember getting a check from Utah state. No biggie, but if I'm owed $117 - I WANT IT! I hate taxes. Does anyone know if these "get your refund now" places are worth it? We need our money, like... now.

Military members are restricted from getting those types of instant refund loans. If you e-file and have it direct deposited, it will only take 8-10 days to get your return so it's not a super long wait. From what I understand the schedule is posted on the IRS website that explains when your refund should be deposited based on when you filed.
I had a return come back to me a few years ago, where I had forgotten to include a w2 and I owed a little bit of money, but it wasn't much. I called the IRS, got all of the information, and mailed in a check. Has he spoken to the IRS? I would try calling if the paperwork they sent is not clear on what they need, or if he's missing paperwork they're asking for. (http://www.irs.gov/individuals/artic...110571,00.html) |

IF they need a signature then read up on if a signature page would suffice ... if you can't find the original tax forms then that might do.
Now, if you filed THROUGH someone they should have kept your older forms on file. If you filed by yourself on your own computer with Turbotax or something of that nature you might be able to find a copy and re-print it off.

Here is another thread outlining that. http://militarysos.com/forum/showthr...a+refund+loans Additionally, why would you want to pay to get money that is already yours? Go on line to www.irs.gov, efile for FREE and get your refund direct deposited into your bank account for FREE in about a week. |
