Good luck to you both! Does he have a job (or school admission) lined up? And what is VEERP? That's a new one for me!

some family and friends of our's have openings, so he should be able to start working fairly soon.

VEERP is the Voluntary Enlisted Early Release Program.

yeah. trust me... that was the plan. he was going to take 30 days of terminal leave and start applying/working immediately. the process started at the beginning of July and was only supposed to take a month.

I hope it all works out for you guys! DH just got out in July but spent 5 weeks trying to get his DD214 it feels like he got out at the end of August

Have you guys thought about headhunting companies at all? DH has had very good luck with them. He just started his job last Monday and it pays better than he ever made in the military (including BAH & all other pays).

nervous doesn't even explain how i feel.

it, definitely, sounds like we're setting ourselves up for complete failure, but we had absolutely no control over this and the outcome. this really wasn't supposed to happen this way. we had a plan. we weren't irresponsible about the decision in July, but it's the military. as soon as his package was submitted, it was in their hands. by the time DH wanted to stop the entire process, it was way too late.

luckily, we have absolutely no bills. all we have to pay for is our car insurance and cell phone, which i can cover with my job.

we haven't, but i'll tell DH to look into that.

where would he start to go that route, though? i'm clueless about headhunting companies.
