Question for those whose SOs are no longer Active Duty

    Advertisements
DH has his TAPS class stuff next week even though he doesn't get out til the end of July, and he wants me to come with. I am totally willing to go since I'm bored with being a SAHW lately, but I was just wondering if anyone else attended with their SOs? Would it be weird for me to go? Am I gonna be the only wife there?

Scott went through TAP last week and there were spouses I would've gone if not for Aubree. Go ready to take lots of notes!

Oh good!!! I went to an event for his old ship once and was the ONLY SO there. It was so awkward I didn't want that to happen again

There is at least one day that is geard more toward having your spouse there. I wouldn't go to every day (and have never heard of anyone who did) but I would go to the sessions where spouses are encouraged.

I went everyday and there were a couple other spouses. I was SAHWing it and wanted some quality time with DH. I got something out of every day.

Dh hasn't said anything about me going with him. As long as he pays attention and brings home info I don't really want to go.

I went with only the intention of staying one day. I ended up going every day, lots of great tools and advice for spouses. Resume writing, mock interviews, information on job searching, cover letters, etc.

I would go.. there is a lot of information, I wouldn't want to risk hubby forgetting something.
I won't be able to go to my hubby's TAPS class since we are in different states, but be rest assured, if I could manage it, I would be going.
