    So could I apply for unemployment?

    if so where? my home of record? or could i apply to any state i want?

    DB said you'll need a copy of DD-214, you'll contact your state unemployment office (google?) and you'll fax the forms, make a few calls and you're good to go...

    You were...coast guard? I know for Army the department of labor says that they can apply in any state that they want as long as they have or know someone with an address in that state because as federal employees, they have that luxury. They even hand out a map showing what each state pays in unemployment. You'd be shocked at how low some of the southern states are and how amazingly high some of the states like massachusetts are.

    If you have access to a dept. of labor center, I'd stop in and ask questions. Don't just apply for the first state you think of if you could be getting a lot more money from a different state.
