reserves - dependent ID - After Active Duty

Dh was told by his reserve recruiter that i will not get a dependent ID. this seems bogus, but i thought i'd ask the SOS masses.

WHAT? How can that be? We have base privvies and commy access, etc.... that can't be true...

ETA: My hubby is currently enrolling in the Selected Reserves (Navy).

Odd. DF will be getting out only a few months after our wedding so it isn't something we were going to deal with just for that short amount of time but we were under the impression that it would be possible if we wanted.

DH is NG and I have an ID. I don;t know if it makes a difference as far as the branch though..

Dependents of reservists get ID's. It's just a different color.

thanks! but it stinks that they don't allow commissary access....

Wrong. My soon to be exH is inactive ready reserve (IRR), and I have an ID. Have since day 1. It expires next month though. Yes you do get an id because you have commy and PX privlages.

Not according to www.military.com. You have to have AD orders with your reserve dependent ID to get access to commissary and PX.
