DH is NG and I have an ID. I don;t know if it makes a difference as far as the branch though..

Wrong. My soon to be exH is inactive ready reserve (IRR), and I have an ID. Have since day 1. It expires next month though. Yes you do get an id because you have commy and PX privlages.
