I NEED HELP: terminal leave - After Active Duty

they ****ed up his leave chit AGAIN. he was supposed to be finished on friday. Where can i find reliable information about options concerning terminal leave when you're AD going reserves AND using the GI Bill!!???

what about paternity leave? i know he can get 2 weeks, but can he use them before the baby is born?

I know with terminal leave he will get what ever they allow him to have- they do not have to give terminal leave at all-
as for going into the reserves he will have a report date he will need to check in at that time-

not sure about the GI bill-

as for the paternity leave- no he cannot take it before the baby is born ( new rule) and the 10 days is at the discretion of the command- they do not have to give it.

thank you. is the terminal leave dependent upon how much leave he has saved up, or is it above and beyond?

It's dependent on how much leave he has.

Like DH... he had 55 days on the books, so his command was nice enough to allow him to take term. leave, and he was allowed to take all 55 days.

Some people take like 30 days and sell the rest back for the money, but DH wanted off the sub ASAP.

thank you, although that's bad news for us

i thought if he was going to school on the GI bill, his CO could approve more than what he has saved.

jamie- there is an early release program for school- but they cannot give him more days leave- the CO does not have the authority to PUT leave on the books

DS got out 16 months early- had 50 days of terminal leave- but he only got the 50 days paid leave.

he is a full time student using the GI bill.
