If you've got Junior or Senior status, your choices are pretty much Old Dominion (public, in Norfolk), Norfolk State (public, also in Norfolk), Virginia Wesleyan (private, in VB on Norfolk border) and Regent (private, in VB).
I recommend taking as much as possible at TCC. It's a good program, but you need to let them know right away that you plan to major in Education so you need to get courses that will transfer. One of my daughters is going there now and will transfer to ODU when she needs her upper-level courses.
If you're at the point where you only have to take upper-level courses, you'll have to go through a four-year school, so from that point on it's really about the expense. |
Thanks soo much! By the time I move, I will have finished my AA, I'm pretty sure. DB will get stationed sometime next Fall, but I probably won't join him until I finish my AA in the spring from the local Comm. College here...
I'll definitely have to check those schools out though, I may just have to suck it up and deal with the cost, because you are right, I won't be "In-state."
I'm not sure how the GI bill works either. If we are married will it pay for my schooling if he transfers it to me?? Is there a time limit?? Or will it pay off my student loans AFTER we are married??
